Biography
Annie Catriona began her studies with Ann Lampard MBE Hon ARAM ARCM at age 17, where she began to learn the art of classical singing. Under her tutorship, Annie secured a place at the Royal College of Music, where she is currently studying as a scholar under Miranda Wright RCNM. Annie was a first time winner of the Gold Medal at the Royal National Mòd in 2022. The competition received media coverage over BBC Alba, Radio nan Gàidheal, The Press & Journal, The Oban Times, The West Highland Free Press and more.
Some of her previous engagements include performing at the Hearach Whiskey Launch in October 2023, ‘An Evening With Annie Catriona MacDonald’ with the London Gaidhlig Society in 2023, Headlining at Cèilidh an Urras 2023 and featuring as a guest appearance at Cèilidh an Urras 2024, and singing at Ceòlas 2023. She looks forward to singing for Ceòl is Craic in the Glasgow CCA in April 2024 and returns to Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain for her second year as a singing tutor.
Opera
Annie has always greatly enjoyed taking to the stage. She had the opportunity to perform in various productions with the Inner Sound Production Company which was run by Ann Lampard MBE. Annie is currently preparing for Opera Scenes with the Royal College of Music, where she takes on the role of Callisto from Cavalli’s Opera “La Callisto”.
Teaching
Annie prides herself in her artistry, and she greatly enjoys any opportunity to share her skills and talents. She greatly enjoyed her experience as a Singing Tutor at Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain in July 2023, and is delighted to have been invited back for the following year. In pursuit of this great passion of hers, she is currently in the process of gaining an ABRSM Teaching Diploma as well as her Bachelor of Music.
